Quadruple OT

The Giants eventually lost to the Spokane Chiefs on this night (in the 7th period) about 1/2 way through the 4th OT period. This was the second longest game in WHL history. My cousin took this picture at the start of Quadruple OT on his iPhone. During the third an fourth OT periods, they were playing songs with a midnight theme as we passed into the next day, such as "Night Train" by Guns N' Roses, "In The Midnight Hour" by Wilson Pickett, and "After Midnight" by Eric Clapton. They also used the screen to ask people if we should order Pizza, and then said "Should We Order Breakfast" once we hit the fourth OT. After a Spokane player named Gal scored (it was actually kind of a Vancouver own-goal), we got out of there around 12:45am and back to the car at 1:00am. Home at 1:45, just in time to watch some Curling on TSN. The good news was that the Giants won game 6 in Double OT in Spokane, and won Game 7 at home in Overtime as well, making for one of the most exciting series ever played in Junior Hockey history. Woohoo!

Giants lost game 1 vs the Kelowna Rockets in round 3 action, let's hope all of those OT games vs. Spokane didn't tucker them out too much to put up a fight vs. the Rockets.
