RUSH Concert in Vancouver 5/29/08

In the above video of the song Freewill, which I recorded for the blog, you will see at the end of the recording, I get busted for using my camera by the local Orca Bay enforcement bitch. I wish the recording nazi's would screw off and just let us do our thing.

I did manage to record two other songs in their entirety, see the two latest Youtube entries on the right hand side of this page. I got Limelight (first song of the night), and Ghost Of A Chance. Later on in the show, my batteries died, so I didn't get as much video as I wanted to.

Overall, The Rush Show in Vancouver was quite fun. My major gripe is that they played too much of the new album. I would say the majority of people who were in attendance felt that they played way too much new stuff. I mean, 8 or 9 songs off the new album is ridiculous when you have a back-catalogue as big and as popular as they have. They should have stuck with 3 or 4 new songs, and add 4 or 5 classics. Damnit! I mean, imagine if the Stones came to town and half of the damn show was "A Bigger Bang". That would royally suck.

The other minor gripe is that I bought the Snakes & Arrows "Live" album about a week before the show, and they basically played the exact same setlist. I predicted Limelight as the first song, Far Cry as the second set's opener, and the whole encore was the exact same. One of the only differences was that they plugged in 2112 late in the 2nd set, which was nice.

Anyways, enjoy the videos, and I'll be reporting to duty at the IRON MAIDEN show in Auburn, WA tomorrow. Up The Irons!
